Richard Riese

MD, PhD

Richard Riese, MD, PhD is Chief Medical Officer at Every Cure. Dr. Riese a physician scientist who brings more than 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry and academic medicine, and has an enduring passion for bringing medicines to patients with rare and devastating diseases.

Richard has a wide breadth of clinical development experience encompassing both large and small biopharmaceuticals. He most recently served as Senior Vice President and Head of Clinical Research at Allovir, Inc, where he oversaw the clinical development of virus-specific T cells to fight latent virus infections in immunocompromised individuals. Prior to this, Richard served as Vice President of Clinical Development at Alnylam, where he led clinical development projects in several areas across Alnylam’s rare disease portfolio, and Vice President of Clinical Development at Alexion, where he served as head of Translational Clinical Sciences responsible for all clinical projects from discovery to proof-of-concept.

Richard earned his MD and PhD from the Medical College of Wisconsin, and a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Riese carried out his residency and fellowship training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston in Internal Medicine with a subspecialty in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
