Every Cure is a start-up, nonprofit drug development organization on a mission to alleviate suffering for the ~300 million people worldwide battling diseases without FDA-approved treatments by unlocking hidden cures. We are building a first-of-its-kind, AI-powered platform to identify FDA-approved treatments that can be repurposed for untreated diseases. Inspired by our success in repurposing over a dozen drugs for new uses, including one that is saving Dr. David Fajgenbaum’s own life, we are committed to unlocking the full potential of FDA-approved drugs to treat every disease and patient possible.

Our groundbreaking approach revolves around building an open-source database and employing cutting-edge tools to identify drug repurposing opportunities. Job Summary:

In order to identify treatments for Long COVID and related immune-mediated conditions, Every Cure is building a Long COVID/Immunology Team and searching for a Scientific Director to lead the team, a focused effort dedicated to identifying and advancing potential treatments for Long COVID.  This effort will involve integrating all available data into biomedical knowledge graphs, applying AI algorithms to these datasets, and investigating promising treatment approaches that need to be evaluated in clinical trials. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer of Every Cure, the Scientific Director will collaborate with computer scientists and project managers to conceptualize and develop the study plans and perform targeted analyses. Working independently and collaboratively, the Scientific Director will be tasked with advancing the strategic scientific direction of a major national initiative directed against Long COVID and interface broadly with internal and external stakeholders from around the world, such as Google Health, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, FDA, NIH, and other leading medical institutions to achieve our overarching goal of accelerating the identification of effective Long COVID treatments.

The Scientific Director for the Long COVID/Immunology team will recruit, train, supervise, and mentor multiple direct reports on the team as well as graduate students, fellows, and scientific collaborators. He or she will work closely with Every Cure leadership to support successful achievement of our mission. Qualified candidates will have expertise in research planning, direct scientific leadership experience, advanced understanding of computational analyses, and familiarity with virology, immunology, and drug repurposing. This is a unique opportunity to join a highly motivated, patient-focused team that works closely with international collaborators and the federal government to make and publish novel discoveries that will have a significant impact on patients who have Long COVID and other diseases with major unmet medical need.

$100,000 – 200,000 depending on experience, plus benefits including:

Education & Previous Experience

Specialized Knowledge or Technical Skills Needed for Performance of Job

• Experience with database development and computational analyses required
• Experience with AI analytic approaches desirable
• Experience interpreting computational analyses of immunology data desirable
• Familiarity with human immunology, virology, and drug repurposing a plus 
• Experience interpreting data from experiments on cell lines and animal models a plus
• Experience interpreting real-world data a plus
• Strong computer/technology skills including database management, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project (or other similar Project Management).
